Music

It has long been said that music can heal. I am a huge fan of music... My parents taught me at a young age to appreciate the fine classical pieces of music. When I was in third grade I wanted nothing else for Christmas than my first C.D.  ( oh and stilts... I didn't get them) I had found this cd by Johann Strauss and listened to it on the little kiosk at the store... I wanted it... so badly!!! Well... I still have it... It's on my Ipod now... but... I cherish those songs... I love Johann Strauss... And... I still wish I had stilts :)

When I was sick the first time my I truly learned how important music is... what a calming effect it can have on your body soul and mind. When I found out I had a mass in my chest 7 years ago we were having a "hymn of the month" at my church. That August was "It is well with my Soul"      That night as my parents informed me that the doctor had called and found something...  I needed to go... I needed to praise my Savior... I needed to remind myself that it was well... no matter what... I had already been saved from my depravity... my desperate need for a savior had been fulfilled. I needed nothing else... it was well with my soul.

As I went up to take a shower... those words cried out from my soul... deep... powerful... it is well... It is well with my soul...
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul

That song has stuck with me... I am so blessed... I know who is in control... I know the end of my story...

I have added a little button on the side of my blog that you can listen to the music that has made an impact on my life... that I listen to all the time... So... feel free :) take a listen... Enjoy!
